Collection of taxes and implementation of the Acts & Rules governing the same (The Inland Vessels Act 1917, The Goa, Daman and Diu Barge Tax Act 1973, The Goa, Daman and Diu Barge (Taxation of Goods) Act 1985, The Goa, Daman and Diu Ports Rules 1983, The Indian Ports Act 1908).
Registration of vessels both mechanised and non-mechanised plying in the Inland Waters of Goa and collect registration fees thereon, as per rules.
Transfer of ownership of vessel and cancellation of Registration of Certificates.
Endorsement of Certificates of Competency issued by the other State of India permitting to work on Inland Vessels of Goa.
Issues of Certificate of Competency of Serang, 1st and 2nd Class Master, 1st and 2nd Class Engine Driver and Inland Engineers.
Extension of Survey Certificates of Inland Vessels.
Extension of NOC letters for fishing stakes.
Supply of Hydrographic Charts on demand to the public.
Matters connected with illegal occupation of Government Riverine Land
Issue of permission to use Government Jetties and government riverine land.
Inward/Outward Outward clearances to ships calling at Panaji Port outer harbour anchorage.
Providing and maintaining Lighthouses/Beacons/Buoys and other navigational aids for vessels plying in the Inland Waterways.
Imparting training through Maritime School at Britona, to those desiring to join careers on Inland Vessels of Goa.
Issue/Renewal of NOC's to small boats (Passengers, parasailing & jetskiis) to operate on beaches of Goa for watersports activities.
